Hi! Thank you so much for visiting my site. If you don’t already know me, my name is Cynthia, I live in Newport, RI, and I officially became a Registered Dietitian in May 2016. Dreams coming true!
Starting a food, nutrition, and health-related blog is something I should have done years ago. I have had a passion for nutrition since high school and it is a topic I can talk about endlessly. But, for whatever reason, most dietitians tend to have a Type A/perfectionist personality, and this is also me most of the time. I am the epitome of a procrastinator. I kept putting off starting a blog because I couldn’t think of a fun blog name, didn’t think I had the right ideas for posts, had no clue how to set up a website (for the record I found Squarespace to be WAY easier than Wordpress), etc etc etc. Excuses. But I kept hearing from other bloggers and professionals to start NOW, and stop waiting, even if I had no clue what I was doing. Everyone has to start somewhere, right?
Now that I have finished my Bachelor’s degree at UMass Amherst, completed my 1200 dietetic internship practice hours through the Wellness Workdays Distance Dietetic Internship, and passed the national exam for Registered Dietitians, I feel more than ready to start sharing with you everything I know, and am constantly learning, about food, health and nutrition. My goal as a blogger and RD is to help build healthier relationships between people in food, increase awareness about health and mindful eating, and work towards disease prevention through healthy eating and living.
I just wanted to use my first post as a way to introduce myself as a new blogger :). If anyone who reads this has any topic ideas for me to blog about, food and nutrition-related questions, recipe requests, or just wants to say hi…please leave a comment below or head to the Contact section!
